“Who Killed The Electric Car?” explores the creation, limited commercialization, and subsequent destruction of the battery electric vehicle in the United States, specifically the General Motors EV1 of the 1990s. The film explores the roles of automobile manufacturers, the oil industry, the US government, the Californian government, batteries, hydrogen vehicles, and consumers in limiting the development and adoption of this technology.

And to think these mother fuckers want BILLIONS of our tax dollars. Just look at the waste here. Not even just the cars, but the BILLIONS that went into developing them. The owners were happy with them and they had a good market for them. Just imagine how many of them they would have sold during 2007 and the first half of 2008 with the high gas prices.

They want billions of YOUR tax money, not mine. I moved out of the US years ago and haven’t looked back. I don’t pay taxes any more, keep all I make and ain’t bailing no mother fuckers out of any mess that they made.
Well, I am hopeful that positive change is coming. I also don’t think you can escape the problems of the US while living in the western world. America wants your dollars just as much as they want mine. Unless you live in a debter nation, your government probably will buy some American bonds, so in the end, they want your money too.
You can’t out run the long arm of the US, unless you live in a 3rd world nation and even then the US sticks it’s nose in where it doesn’t belong.

and do you know that the electric cars of today are a scam? the so called hybrids,,there built to keep enveromentalists happy,,but there not green cars and use as more fuel as a normal same sized car,fact! vw gold tdi does more mpg than a toyota prius hybrid,so why is prius not just a normal diesel like golf,, its to keep people happy, N seems they fell for it,coz celebs now hav toyota prius’s, ok why dont celebs have golf tdi’s? b coz they fell 4 the scam just like de electric car supporters

As would I. However, all the companies leased them to consumers. They would not allow anyone to buy them. When the leases were up, they took them back. If those who leased them had tried to keep them, they would have been charged with car theft as the cars were not really theirs. Bummer.
