Who Killed the Electric Car Part 4 of 10
“Who Killed The Electric Car?” explores the creation, limited commercialization, and subsequent destruction of the battery electric vehicle in the United States, specifically the General Motors EV1 of the 1990s. The film explores the roles of automobile manufacturers, the oil industry, the US government, the Californian government, batteries, hydrogen vehicles, and consumers in limiting the development and adoption of this technology.

hey liveoilfree is in this movie
wonder if gm will do this to volt buyers like they did to the ppl tht leased the EV1 it was such a good inovation wny take it away GM??
They physically take the cars away from the people??? This is OUTRAGEOUS! They bought it, it´s their property! Even if they´re not allowed to drive it, they should be allowed to KEEP it definitely!
Just look what a desperate move is required to surpress the technology, they have to physically take their cars away. Unbelievable.
No, they didn’t buy it. GM never let them. They would ONLY lease the cars at exorbitant rates. Some say the EV-1 lease program actually made a profit.
Wow that´s interesting. I didn´t know that. Maybe that´s why they did it, so the people couldn´t make property claims. But apparently quite a few people were nevertheless ready and willing.
“Where are the EV1’s, where are the EV1’s?!” What does it matter EV lovers, it’s fucking dead. You’re just scrapping over a corpse in part 4.
This is just another reason why GM shouldn’t get any of our money…. When GREAT DEPRESSION 2 gets going, and we’re all scraping to feed ourselves. We’llwant all those Trillions of $ back for US. GM has been incompetent for around 50 years. Let them Die so a real electric car company can start making these long overdue wonders.
I’m grateful for this movie to make me understand that HYDROGEN FUEL CELL technology was just a red herring. $1,000,000 per car and the fuel cell clogs up worthless after 10,000 miles.. That’s $100 per mile. Electric Cars could use batteries made in the USA, run on coal mined in the USA, and greatly improve our economy, as well as, for instance, Los Angeles’ air quality. This generates Real Wealth for working people in the USA. That Whore Lloyd getting paid $400K to kill the electric car!
the most fuel efficient car that uses 100 year old technology is
the electric rail car
train/trolley
we cant win they are already raising taxes/dmv rates for people driving fuel efficient vehicles as they don’t buy much gas and generate tax to upkeep the highway system
coal ?? come man !! i don’t think so
hydro or nuclear power until Fusion power comes along.
Fusion is not within my lifetime, nuclear is fine if you’re talking about the upcoming ‘nuclear battery’ (2x the size of a hot tub and intrisically safe).
My point is just that Coal isn’t as bad as it is currently popular to believe. But that’s the beauty of electric cars. Whatever your favorite fuel is, (coal currently is mine, until the Nuclear Battery thing comes out), then an Electric Car can run on that.. So if you’re into wind or solar, that’s fine too. Open minds anyone?
Unbelievable! But then again… it is the U.S. government. Who could be more corrupt? Oh wait a minute… all the world’s governments are corrupt!
Who killed the electric car? More like WHAT killed the electric car, and that’s CORPORATE GREED!!! Need I say more?
And did you know that the government also gives a 3,000$ check to someone who buys a hybrid?
Criminal cort
people, lets be happy for whats left…we are about to fail….
we canot change whats going on.
we know to much…we went to far… (keanu reeves)
I hate people like you
watch the entire film and you’ll find out that it was more than just corporate greed, although it did play a significant part.
u forget the air is clean w nuclear , where is the adverage homeowner going to store the toxic waste?? ppl throw out enough toxic things as it is
u can have a electric car that u dont plug in they have some concept cars w solar panels .
relax people! we are going to evolve into a new species, homo corporaticus ex sapiens, and everybody will be happy!
