Plug-In Hybrid feature on CalCars.org and Felix Kramer
.org http In our ongoing series featuring clean air vehicles, alternative energy and individuals and groups making a real difference for more efficient transportation, Hippy Gourmet TV is proud to interview Felix Kramer, Founder of CalCars.org. Felix is the very first individual in the world to own a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and has dedicated his life to bringing these vehicles into mass production with car makers, working with other great organizations and through legislation as well. … plug-in …

Excellent!
i’m down for more mpg. how much.

From that site it says the conversion cost $12,000.. Sadly the only people that could afford that are self centered assholes who would rather buy a stretch limo hummer that gets 5 mpg or something.
Hope the price comes down by the time I finally buy a prius.
At least they are planning on it now! Thanks for getting the movement started!
Humm…no room for a spare tire though.
This is totally unAmerican. I do NOT support this at all. We need to get behind the auto and oil industry. They are the LIFEBLOOD of our economy. What do these liberals propose we do with all the unemployed soldiers after we don’t need oil anymore? What about the unfair competition to American carmakers? Overly high quality cars should be regulated. And foreign kids are taking all our jobs because its not easy to get an A.
HHO-Cells can improve your gas mileage on your vehicle also. Currently I am working on a design, have my videos posted on here.
Heard some people getting 8-15 extra MPG on a small 4-cylinder auto. So who knows there are cheaper alternatives. Will have a car install very soon.
Age of Aquarius is upon us folks, Fuel from WATER !!

you rock!! I wish more people would think and ACT like you do!!!
Hoping that the new NiMH PiP will go into mass production!
We drive oil-free every day, charging off excess electric from our rooftop solar electric system.
This is a really good presentation of the idea. Felix covers all the aspects of the plug-in hybrid idea. Can’t get one, because car makers are stonewalling. Right-on, on all points, Felix!
This is a really good presentation of the plug-in hybrid idea. Felix covers all aspects of it, from where you get the electric to how both sorts of hybrids work, and how you get the electric for the plug-in hybrid.
Every Dem politician should watch this video. Right-on, Felix!
Thank you for a completely sensible video with clear answers to the questions I had in my mind! Must be honest though, I’m quite jealous of your plug in hybrid! I want one!
thats pretty cool. I wonder how that car would do in the mid-west though? I have a prius, and I do love it, but it’s not the best winter car ever. The cold drastically reduces my gas mileage (as well as the hills where I live) so how far would electric get me in single digit weather? Someone should research that.
Okay, reality check….the current hybrid car consumes more energy from the batteries than an SUV does in consuming gas, want the pollution side as well, disposal of the hybrid batteries causes more pollution than the entire life of an SUV.
Ni-MH batteries (like the OEM battery found in the Prius) for a plug-in car will work well in sub-zero temperatures.
(Ask ‘liveoilfree’ about his experience in the HONDA EV+ in cold weather conditions)
If you want the heater on to keep things toasty, the engine will idle to keep the heater working. -Better wear good sweater…
Oil companies have rights too. We should give them a chance to make hydrogen fuel cells. All you need is a little electricity to convert natural gas into hydrogen. Water takes more electricity to convert. There’s lots of natural gas so there will be lots of hydrogen. We can build more nucular and coal powered generators to make the electricity to make the hydrogen. Jobs are created, profits trickle down, everybody wins. But with plug-in hybrids, only the left wingers win. That’s unfair.
Great Video! we need these cars running and for car manufactures to start creatign and producing them- oil prices now are crazy and there are already problems with petrol
For 10 -12 grand that they do their conversions for its worth it. Especially if gas keeps climbing like it is… too bad the oil companies have thier hands in the car companies’ pockets.. America is land of the free, and bought.
hydrogen fuel cells are not ready for use, or the car companies claim they wont be for another decade.. plug ins can be utilized NOW, the sooner we start saving the planet the better..
God will not reward those who question his wisdom. There is plenty of oil in the ground if we just take if from the islamics. God gave us oil, coal and nuclear power. God did NOT give us man made batteries and liberal solar power. Man made solar panels and plug in hybrids are not Gods natural gift.

Sources, Elky78? Sounds fishy.
Oil companies do have rights, and their lobbyist and lawyers see to it that they are grabbing all the cash they can! Oil companies have had their day with record profits and corruption. It’s time for some grass roots, common sense ideas to take hold. The plug in hybrids can really help cut global warming and it can be done now!
viinikka – How would you know how much energy is consumed? Are you an electrical engineer? Or a mechanical engineer? I am both a licensed emissions inspector, electronics engineer and I have 10 years experience as a mechanic. I can say with authority that you sir are sadly mistaken or mislead. Peace out.
