I need to know what type of batteries I should use…I think of sticking with deep cycle lead acid, I need to know how much they cost, how many of them, how far they will take, ect. Thank you
Is a gel battery better, because you dont have to water them, and how much water does it take, please explain

The deep cycle batteries don't give you any more range (maybe a little) then the cheap ones, but they will last longer and be maintenance free.
lead acid is $1.70 per pound, 10 cents per watt hour and 15 wh per pound.
Li-ion is $85 per pound, 86 cents per watt hour and 98 Wh per pound.
a small car like a honda civic can go a couple of miles on 1 kilo watt hour of electricity.
it's all up to what kind of vehicle you want to make and how much money you want to spend.
Its lithium-ion batteries.
It will cost you alot of money to make one no matter how you do it. If you want to know about the best batteries ever made these are the ones you want:

they just settled the production deal so it will be a little while before you can get them
There are a lot of websites that can teach you most of what you need to know. I’ve listed a few below. The companies that do conversions and sell parts to hobbyists for DIY share a lot of technical info.
Search for blogs where people describe what they did, like Jerrys Elec Car, and they can teach you a lot.
