That isn’t a rollbar.
I was going to say. That “roll bar” would fold in and probably into the peoples head if it ever flipped.
That is an incredibly inefficient set up…
Great car, the range could be better but batteries are expensive.
It’s a very cool car, too bad you are such a yuppie lib.
FYI The Miata is the car least likely to roll over according to safety tests in the USA.
With all those batteries its probably even better
We have 2 gas powered miata. They go 600 kms between fillups

Nice job on converting and a good choice of car. I used to have one of those and miss it terribly but I had nothing but rainy weekends whenever I wanted to use it!
Thanks and thanks for watching.
the technical name of it is a style bar. This is exactly what it is, its just to look nice, a roll bar is much skinnier in diameter (thicker piping) and usually goes from back to the front.
There are few roll bars that are only connected to the rear however they have like 6 points to mount and they mount in a dual triangle type of way so they dont “fold” into a persons head.
yup, I knew this.
sawracer,
Please read the latest details of the project that were submitted by the individual who did the conversion.
Nice job there!!
Is the electrical engine connected directly on the transmission or is the clutch in between?
Prof, please read the specs on the side, it provides all the details of the process and parts. Thanks, Diana
If you don’t find the info. pm me and I will send you contact info. for the engineer.
Did you just say that it only goes 26 miles between charges?
Yes, 26 miles.. see the specs to the right under video information. Thanks for watching.
So do you have solar panels on your house supplying this electricity? How much do you think it would cost each time to charge all of these batteries each time based on your own cost per kwhr?
also what is the life expectancy of these batteries after being charged and discharged repeatedly as they are?
lead acid is 400 to 800 cycles and also depends how deep u discharge it each time.
Nicola Tesla’s car used a battery switching trick which makes the batteries self charging. Google “Tesla Switch”, and positive results and replications are found on overunity website.
New 200 mile battery charges in minutes:
52KWH car/house battery. Google search “Weir 52kwh Battery”
105 HP seems huge to me. Is that figure correct ? That might be the reason for the relatively short range. Anyway nice conversion.
how much does it weigh?
NICE JOB DUDE
“roll bar for safety” –that’s not a roll bar, it’s a style bar. In a crash it will do nothing at all to protect you. It actually has the capability to kill you since it’ll just bend/snap in a rollover.
gud job, but 26 mi range would not work for mny ppl. Lithium iron phosphate or lithium polymer batteries are more expensive, but are much lighter, have longer life, and can give the greater range.mny ppl need. New advances in battery tech will be available in next 2 yrs that will provide vry fast charging, as well.
I am currently (no pun intended) doing a conversion of a BMW 3 series to battery electric with lithium iron phosphate… almost done.
TY very much for your video!
