Awesome!
Looks super simple to install.
Pity they couldn’t do the same for cars.
200 watt motor? That’s not powerful enough…need at least 400 w
Consider it like a decision between buying a Honda Civic or a Suburban. If you want to turn your personal bike into a 60-lb motorcycle, then a 500-watt monster motor and a massive battery pack is the way to go. If you want to keep the usefulness and function of your bike just how it is but add 10 miles of electric power for getting up hills or through the wind, then a simple 15-lb kit is the way to go.
“They” can, and so can you. Google “Hi-Pa Drive Ford-F150″ for starters.
A 200 watt motor will effectively double your strength as you peddle. That’s quite a boost.
if you really want to make some money, you should develop a hub motor that is as good and fast as the 5303 crystalyte…as far as I know, there are no hub motors that fast so they have a monopoly on it
Aren’t those Crystalyte kits for making bikes into motorcycles? I thought they go 50mph or something and have 45-pound batteries and take forever to install. I like the simple “1,2,3″ “5-minute” “quick-install” type of designs. Racing motor bikes is cool though!
yes, they go very fast…the batteries have gotten better, though and there is no need for 40 lbs of batteries…hi-powercyles has a 9 lb battery that handles the 5303 just fine…I don’t work for hi-powercycles
Can you send a link to that 9lb battery? I’m not sure I found it on the site. Very nice site though.
yep , they are coming out with some really good simple retro fits for existing cars. greening what we have is better than buying (manufacturing) new stuff. I like to test ride one of your kits .
Whatever the merits of the motor this is an appalling video. The “fitter” is standing between the light and the machine and throws everything he does into heavy shadow. Everything is far too distant to get any idea of what is involved. The inertia of the battery panniers mounted on the front forks would spoil the steering on any bicycle. Totally unnecessary when a simple rear battery carrier is so easy to use. The flimsy wrap-around control button won’t last for five miles!
Distractingly horrid music. Try describing the install instead. That would be useful instead of irritating.
cool idea but.. i would not like to break on a corner with gravel on it there is far to much weight on the front it may slip from under you.
