Nice work, I really want to see how this comes along. Will you be posting more videos?
What are those battery cells, and what will the battery pack capacity be?
good luck man
big idea…good luck!!
Update?
thats very cool. when will the next video be?
I’m impressed with your battery choice. Are they all Ni-MH batteries? That’s a great idea. I look forward to the progress.
Cheers!

According to his austinev photo album page, he’s using lithium iron phosphate batteries, a Solectria AC55 motor, and Solectria DMOC445 inverter. This setup should yield about 100 peak horsepower.

use automatic gear box, why use a manual?
Tesla Roadster uses lithium battery pack..you could charge it for free with solar panel set-up..TESLA MOTORS claim the car gets 250 miles between charges, speeds up to 165 mph, and, oh yeah, the body is by Lotus..
Because electric cars don’t need to shift. However, having a transmission allows you to use one of the gears to change the gear ratio without having to fabricate a gearbox.
Also, automatics require the fluid be pumped through the cooling system, where manuals are self-contained.
good project, but once more, with feeling
This was more than a years ago…. whats happened ?
I have a question. Our you making your own lithium ion battery packs?
Project’s been put on hold, but yes we’re putting together our own packs.
Did you xA come with Electric power steering and electronic throttle like the Yaris?? They would make the swap much easier
KUDOS!!!! I’m UBER-JEALOUS!!!
No electric steering, not sure of throttle, project’s been put on hold for now.
